Configuration
Before using Review, configure the Next Gen Cloud Platform. You can customize the Next Gen Cloud Platform, and Review, for your specific system from the Settings tab.

Opening Settings
To open the Telestream Cloud Settings menu, click the Settings tab on the left-side navigation bar.
Telestream Cloud expands the Settings menu.
Storage for Review
You can configure Telestream Cloud Platform Storage for use with Review.
Configuring Review for an AWS S3 Storage Location
You can connect an AWS S3 bucket to Review. Start the configuration on AWS.
To view a file in Review, enable the storage location of the file for Review playback. You
can do this when you first configure the storage location, or at any time after that.
Review supports only AWS S3 storage.
To permission an AWS S3 storage location for Review playback, do the following:
- Add an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Location.
See Adding an AWS Storage Location in the Telestream Cloud Platform Configuration
Guide. - Log in to your AWS Console, and visit the Identity and Access Management (IAM) page. Create an access Policy, create a Role, and connect the Policy to the Role.
For instructions about configuring AWS S3 storage, see The AWS User Guide. - In Telestream Cloud, to expand the Settings menu, click the Settings tab.

Telestream Cloud expands the Settings menu. - Click Storage.
See Current User Icons.
Telestream Cloud displays the Storage view. - Do one of the following:
– To select an existing storage location, click the ellipsis (...) to the left of its name, and select Edit.
– To add a new storage location, click the + Add Storage button.
Telestream Cloud opens the Edit Storage panel or the + Add Storage panel. - Select AWS S3 from the Storage Type field drop-down menu.
- Enter a name for your storage location, the bucket name itself, the region it resides in, and the Role ARN you copied and pasted from the AWS console.
Note the External ID and Account ID, which were used when creating the Role in AWS. - Click either Save or Add.
Review confirms it can access the location. The policy and role have been set up correctly and the storage location is ready to use.
Configuring Review for a Presigned URL Asset
With Review, you can open assets with presigned URLs. A presigned URL is a link to a file in a remote S3 bucket. A presigned URL has an expiration date.
To configure Review to use a presigned URL, do the following:
- Copy a presigned URL you’ve created for an asset in a remote S3 bucket.
- In Review, browse to Review > Browser, and click the Presigned URL button.
Review opens the Presigned URL field. - Paste the presigned URL you copied into the Presigned URL field.
- (Optional) To create a media package for the presigned URL asset, click Create
Media Package.
See Creating a Media Package. - To open the presigned URL asset, click Open.
Creating a Sub-Storage Folder for Review
You can create storage subfolders, or sub-storage folders, for assets. Sub-storage folders allow you to limit access to specified assets, and help keep assets organized. To create a sub-storage folder for Review, do the following:
- Click the Log In/Out Button.
Review opens a drop-down menu. - Browse to Organization Settings > Storage.
Review displays a list of available storage locations. - Select the storage container you want to add a sub-storage folder to, and click the ellipse (...) for that storage location.
Review displays a drop-down menu. - Select Add Sub Storage from the drop-down menu.
Review opens the Add Sub Storage dialog. - Enter a name and path for the sub storage folder, and click Add.
Review adds the sub-storage folder under the name of its associated main folder. If necessary, click the chevron next to the storage folder name, to display sub-storage folders. - To map the sub-storage folder to a space, do the following:
Select Spaces.
Click the ellipse to the left of the name of the space desired, and select Edit from the drop-down menu.
In the Edit Space dialog, select one or more sub-storage folder names from the Storage drop-down menu, and click Save. - In Review, browse to Browser, and select the storage location where you created the sub-storage folder.
Review displays the sub-storage folders you created.

Users for Review
You can configure Telestream Cloud Platform user accounts for use with Review.
Assigning Review Permissions to a User Role
You can configure Telestream Cloud Platform user accounts for use with Review.
To create a user role permission for Restore, follow the steps of Adding a User Role in the Telestream Cloud Platform Configuration Guide, with the following particulars:
Under the Restore heading, select one of the following permissions for the role:
- No access
- Playback Access
Users with this permission can use all playback features in Review, but can’t configure most settings of Review, and may not be able to play back all available media files. - Playback and Admin Access
Users with this permission can manage and modify all Review settings within the assigned space.
The following table displays the different permissions for Playback access and Playback and Admin Access. Generally, playback is available to all users, but application-level configurations typically are limited to administrators.

- Click Add.
Telestream Cloud updates the Review role with the permissions specified.
Assigning an Application Seat for Review
To assign an application seat to a user for Review, follow the steps in Assigning an App Seat to a User in the Telestream Cloud Platform Configuration Guide with the following particulars:
- Choose Review from the Application Seats drop-down menu.
Spaces for Review
You can configure Telestream Cloud Platform Spaces for use with Review.
Configuring a Space for Review
To configure a space for Review, follow the steps in Adding a Space in the Telestream Cloud Platform Configuration Guide.
Browser for Review
The Review bucket browser allows you to browse your configured S3 buckets, and open a session for any bucket.
Finding Assets in an S3 Bucket
To find the media files in a configured S3 bucket, do the following:
- Do one of the following:
– In the left-side navigation pane, browse to Review > Browser.
– In the left-side navigation pane, browse to Review > Player. - Do one of the following:
– To browse to the bucket, click Browse.
– To view a list of recently viewed buckets, click Recent Files.
– Enter the name of the desired bucket into the Search field.
The search is case-sensitive.
Review displays a list of buckets.
Launching a Session for a File in an S3 Bucket
To launch a session for an S3 bucket, do the following:
- Find the desired S3 bucket.
See Finding Assets in an S3 Bucket. - Double-click the name of the bucket.
Review launches a session for the selected bucket.
Creating a Media Package
You can create media packages in Review. A media package can contain a video file and its associated sidecar files, such as audio files, caption files, and Qualify reports. To create a media package, do the following:
- Find the desired video file in an S3 bucket.
See Finding Assets in an S3 Bucket. - Select the name of the desired video file, and click Create Media Package.
Review adds the selected video file to the MEDIA PACKAGE list toward the bottom of the screen. - In the drop-down menu to the right of the media file name, select Primary Media.
- Find and select one or more additional files for the media package.
To select multiple neighboring files, Shift-click the first and last file desired.
To select multiple files not neighboring one another in the list, Ctrl-click each file desired. - Click Add as Sidecar.
Review adds the selected files to the MEDIA PACKAGE list toward the bottom of the screen.
Opening a Media Package
To open a media package, select any file in the media package and click Open Media Package.
Review opens the video file and the sidecar files associated with it in the media package.
Player for Review
Selecting Player in the left-side navigation bar opens the media player and media assets for the currently active session. If there is no active session, Player opens a browser for finding the assets desired. By default, Review terminates a session after five minutes of
inactivity.
You can browse from an active session in the player to other Review controls, such as
Settings. To return to the active session, click Player in the left-side navigation bar.

To speed your workflow, you can use keyboard shortcuts for commonly-used Review commands.
To find Review keyboard shortcuts, browse to Settings > Keyboard Shortcuts.
